The lodge is called Thousand Lakes Lodge and is situated near Lake Augusta. Most of you would have seen the old Antarctic base which has been falling apart for years. This has been totally stripped on the inside, renovated and now offers top quality accommodation.
Rainbow Lodge Guided Fly Fishing Tasmania is the preferred guiding operation for Thousand Lakes Lodge guests and weather permitting, we expect to be spending more time in the western lakes this year than any other.
The lodge offers a range of rooms including standard queen rooms through to deluxe king rooms. It will be a wonderful place to relax and unwind. It also boasts full wifi access, both Optus and Telstra mobile reception and has wheelchair accessible rooms.
It is owned and run by Australian Motor Racing legend Marcos Ambrose.
Marcos retired from a glittering car racing career in 2015, which saw him win the Australian V8 Supercar series' championship in 2003 and 2004 and successfully compete in NASCAR. Marcos is passionate about the Tasmanian wilderness and remote environment.
Thousand Lakes Lodge will offer some fantastic opportunities for customers wishing to fish the western lakes throughout each season and in particular, before the boom gate opens in September each year. This is when the masses flock in to make the most of fish in shallow water that have not seen an angler in months.
For those wishing to engage in this form of fishing, Thousand Lakes Lodge has made their electric bikes available to our guides to use, if clients are staying at Thousand Lakes Lodge. This will enable us to reach distant lakes with minimum effort and also provide you with a unique and different experience.
We are always looking at ways to make your trips more memorable and something different from year to year. If you would like to book at Thousand Lakes Lodge, please contact us via email and we will happily organise a booking code for you to assist you with your Thousand Lakes Lodge booking. By using the Rainbow Lodge booking code, you will also receive a discounted rate for your stay at Thousand Lakes Lodge.
We are very excited about the many opportunities this will provide our clients in terms of access to remote fishing locations and somewhere unique and different to stay and pamper yourselves, within our amazing highlands environment. Please click on the Thousand Lakes Lodge icon below to go to their website and find out more about them (be sure to check out our guided fishing packages on their website as well):
